032/06: Appointment of
new Comptroller of State Bank The Office of the Head of State wishes to thank Mr. J-M Sporn, the Comptroller from 2003 to the end of this calendar year, for his contributions and support during his term of office. Mr. Sporn's appointment ends at the end of 2006. We are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Brian Semmens as Comptroller of the State Bank from 1 January 2007. He may be contacted at the administrative offices which have been moved to Suite 1, 10, The Row, Sealand 1001. Mr. Semmens will be undertaking the duties in accordance with State Decree 2032 and will be responsible for the regulation and licensing of financial business in the Principality as well as for the management of the State economy generally. Concurrently with this new appointment, it should be noted that the licence for Goldrain Bank, Ltd. will be withdrawn from 1 January 2007.
