Prince Roy Remembrance Coin


This commemorative coin is issued by the Treasury of the Principality of Sealand to mark the passing of the co founder and states first Prince – Roy, Prince of Sealand who passed away on the 9th of october 2012. Hereditary Prince Michael, who was named Regent by Prince Roy in 1999 succeeded his father as sovereign Prince on this day.

This silver $25 coin is issued by the Treasury of the Principality of Sealand and is legal tender on its territory.

Obverse: Portrait of Prince Roy facing left based on an official photograph taken on the occasion of the 35th year of independence. The memorial text includes 1967-2012, the years when Prince Roy was the co-ruler of Sealand.

Reverse: The Coat of Arms of the Principality is centred with the coins denomination above and commemorative text positioned below the crest.

The coins obverse and reverse is designed by Michael Alexander. His initials “MAA” appear beside both the portrait and Coat of Arms.

Each coin is individually numbered on the edge from 001-300. The number on the coin matches the certificate of Authenticity.
